The Government is advancing in the road renewal process in Torresblancas and in the improvement and expansion of its facilities with investments in ongoing or completed works, such as the repair of the sidewalks on Varsovia Street and the installation of a new continuous rubber floor in the children’s park. These works, carried out by the company Iter Trivium SLU, had a budget of about 40,000 euros.
During a visit this Friday to the area, along with neighborhood representatives and municipal technicians, the Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning, Environment and Infrastructure, José Antonio Díaz, checked the results of these works. These are part of the project to develop a municipal property for the construction of new facilities requested by the residents, such as a sports track, a calisthenics park, and a parking area for neighborhood use, all with a budget of about 200,000 euros.
In the case of Varsovia Street, the Deputy Mayor expressed his satisfaction with the renewed appearance of this road and the children’s park, “thus responding to the needs raised by neighborhood representatives in one of the visits made by the mayor, Mamen Sánchez, to this area.”
He highlighted that “we have activated the public works machinery since we have been governing, and, consequently, the neighborhoods are benefiting from a substantial improvement in their public spaces and having facilities near their homes.”
The works on Varsovia Street, already completed, aimed to facilitate accessibility and pedestrian transit by reforming various sections of the sidewalks that were in poor condition, including the fixing of tree pits and the removal of rubble and weeds that hindered passage.
Also, the intervention included the installation of a new continuous rubber floor in the children’s park, replacing the existing gravel, also meeting the neighbors’ requests regarding safety and maintenance.
Project for the Provision of New Facilities
Taking advantage of his visit to the neighborhood, Díaz supervised the execution of the project to organize and provide new parking and sports and leisure facilities being constructed on municipal land by the company Manuel Alba SA for an amount of 200,000 euros. The plot in question is located at the confluences of Atlanta, Budapest, and Varsovia streets and has an area of 3,257 square meters.
In addition to expanding facilities, this action allows for the recovery of unused and degraded plots in this area, “thus we continue regenerating the neighborhoods and eliminating points that sometimes generate insecurity and health problems for the neighbors,” emphasized the Deputy Mayor.
The president of the Neighborhood Association, Fernando Cabral, also expressed his satisfaction during the tour “for the improvements that Torresblancas is receiving. Those of us who live here are happy with the work being done in terms of cleaning, sidewalks, in the children’s park, and with the new parking and sports areas that we are going to have; they represent a great achievement and joy for us.”
