The Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning, Environment, and Infrastructure, José Antonio Díaz, visited the road repair works on Varsovia Street in Torresblancas, an action previously announced by Mayor Mamen Sánchez during a recent visit to this neighborhood to present the project for the organization and provision of new facilities in the area. As Díaz explained, it is another investment by the government of Mamen Sánchez in the neighborhoods, this time aimed at improving accessibility and pedestrian transit on this street, once again responding to a claim by the residents.
The works, carried out by the company Iter Trivium SLU with a budget of about 40,000 euros, involve the reform of various areas of the street, such as repairs to the deteriorated sidewalk and specific repairs in adjacent surfaces to this road that are in a state of abandonment, including the removal of rubble and weeds.
Also, the intervention includes the installation of a new continuous rubber floor in the children’s area, replacing the existing gravel, “also responding to the demands of the residents of the neighborhood, who asked for more safety guarantees for the use of this park by children.”
As the Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning emphasized, “in our action plan we are fulfilling the priorities set by the residents, and especially, from the government of investments, we are investing in the neighborhoods, so that the taxes of the people of Jerez are allocated to the improvement of road and facility infrastructures. The goal is to continue in this line of work through a roadmap marked in the different districts and neighborhoods of the city.”
For his part, the president of Torresblancas, Fernando Cabral, expressed his satisfaction with the development of these works “that we had been demanding for some time, given the accessibility problems that this street had, and therefore they are going to be very good for the neighborhood.” He also thanked the City Council for the actions that are going to be carried out in the area “to improve the provision of facilities, promote leisure and improve the quality of neighborhood life.”
